This year is full of family adventure and exciting additions at Walt Disney World Orlando. Disney is preparing for an amazing unveil of their Pandora: The World of Avatar at Walt Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
The opening day has now been officially announced, it is set for May 27. The addition to the park is based on James Cameron’s movie Avatar.
Guests will be transported to the vivid and stunning world of Pandora, here they will explore the mythical realm. Floating mountains and bioluminescent plants are just the beginning of the magic everywhere you look you will be awe struck. Come and immerse yourself in a whole new world of splendor and wonder.
This new land is set across a massive landscape fitting in perfect with the adventure theme of Walt Disney’s Animal Kingdom. At night the World of Avatar begins to glow making it truly magical. Experience the new and exciting addition to the wonderful Walt Disney World Orlando.
There are two brand new experiences to discover in Pandora: the World of Avatar. Fly high in the sky on Avatar Flight of the Passage is the ride of a lifetime. Climb aboard a winged banshee and take off soaring through the air. See the world of Avatar from above on this one of a kind ride full of amazing effects. You will not forget this visually stunning adventure.
Journey down a river on the family friendly Na’vi River Journey. Travel down a sacred river through a bioluminescent rainforest full of mystery. You will encounter creatures and a Na’vi shaman who sends positive energy through the forest through music.
Guests will not have to leave this land to satisfy their hunger, you can grab a bite to eat at Satu’li Canteen. Grab a drink and quench your thirst at Pongu Pongu. You can even shop at Windtraders for special Avatar merchandise like clothing, toys, cultural items, and science kits. You will stay completely immersed in this new land.

Rivers of Light is Animal Kingdoms new night time show to come to life after being postponed. Projections of animals are cast upon curtains of water. Barges with animal figures drift down the river along with huge lotus blossoms with water features. Accompanied an amazing soundtrack that everyone will love, this show will be truly magical.
